Norway’s Tippeligaen match between Odd Grenland and Tromso on Sunday evening, which finished 3-1 to Odd, produced one of the most sensational headed goals ever seen in world football.
Finding themselves 2-1 down at Odd Grenland as the game ticked over into injury time, Tromso threw everybody, including the keeper, forward in search of a late equaliser from a corner.
Unfortunately for the visitors, the ball was cleared from the corner kick and was shot downfield where the lone Tromso defender left to man the back headed the ball back over the halfway.
Odd’s Jone Samuelsen, capitalizing on the open goal as the Tromso keeper was still stranded upfield, connected with the defensive header before the ball hit the floor and powerfully headed the ball a full 60 yards into the goal.
Thanks to this incredible goal, hailed as one of the longest range headed goals of all time, Samuelsen has become an internet sensation after a video of the goal went viral.
