China’s popular actress and microblogging queen Yao Chen has more than 10 million followers on China’s microblogging site Sina Weibo. She has got more microblog followers than Ashton Kutcher’s Twitter.  With China’s huge population and an ever-increasing broadband penetration, Yao will soon outrank Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber as having the most microblogging followers.

Yao Chen

Sina.com.cn crowned Yao as the “queen of microblog” when her microblog at t.sina.com.cn/yaochen  garnered more than five million followers in January. Her engagement with current world events, addressing social and political issues in Weibo, has won her the huge number of followers.

Yao Chen was born on 5 October 1979 in Shishi City, Quanzhou, Fujian province, China to a middle-class family. She first studied Chinese folk dance at the Beijing Dance Academy from 1993 to 1997, before moving on to study at the Beijing Film Academy from 1999 to 2003.

The charismatic actress shot to fame in 2006 for her acting debut role as the daughter of a powerful martial artist in popular 1995 sitcom “My Own Swordsmen”.  Following this, in 2008, she played the part of an iconic guerilla leader in the series Undercover. Her first stage appearance was as a white-collar heroine in A Story of Lala’s Promotion (2009). She has since appeared as Mango in Feng Xiaogang’s If You Are the One 2 (2010), in Chen Yili’s Colour Me Love (2010) and in Shang Jing’s My Own Swordsman (2011). She won the Golden Eagle Award for Best Actress in 2010.

In 2004 Yao Chen married the Chinese actor Ling Xiao Su, but they divorced in January 2011.

In 2011 Yao Chen visited Mae La refugee camp in northern Thailand as UNHCR’s Honorary Patron for China. The number of followers of her microblogging during this visit increased dramatically, won over by her sincere, fearless communication and her honest engagement with current world events. As she left Mae La she said, “I hope to spend part of every year with refugees.”

Yao is the first non-Twitter microblogger among the world’s 10 most followed microbloggers. Sina said, “Her charisma is attributed to the honesty expressed in her postings, which are like text messages sent between old friends.”

You can go ahead and say that I am a katak di bawah tempurung (frog living under a coconut shell) but I am not afraid to admit that I only got to know about this group on YouTube when my son posted their ‘Price Tag’ video on Facebook and I instantly fell in love with their heavenly and harmonious voices.

Jayesslee

Jayesslee is a pair of 24-year-old twins from Australia by the name of Janice and Sonia. They were born to Korean parents and raised in Sydney, Australia.

The twins during their childhood days

Both have a passion for singing and for them, just knowing that a single person is blessed through their music is enough to keep them going.

They are truly YouTube stars. They are so popular that they are often stopped in the middle of a shopping mall for photos and autographs.

As of 2010 their full-time vocation has been recording, touring and performing. Prior to this, they had part-time jobs where Sonia worked at a juice bar and Janice was scooping ice cream. It got to a point where they didn’t have time or flexibility to commit to everything, so luckily for us, they decided to make music their lives.

They have also dedicated their lives to serve God and were recently in Singapore where they performed at the City Harvest Church. Quite a number of their YouTube videos feature Christian songs such as this one ‘It’s Your Love.’

YouTube sensation Jayesslee Live in Singapore

This is one of their most popular videos on YouTube in which they sing ‘Officially Missing You.”

Of course, it would not be complete if they don’t sing a Korean song. So here is their rendition of the Wonder Girls’ ‘Nobody But You.’

When Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony renewed their marriage vows last year on their 6th anniversary, they were the envy of many people. They seemed to be such a loving and inseparable couple.

Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony heading for splitsville

But on Friday, they dropped the bombshell that they are splitting after seven years of marriage.

The high-profile Hollywood couple just released a statement, claiming, “We have decided to end our marriage. This was a very difficult decision. We have come to an amicable conclusion on all matters. It is a painful time for all involved and we appreciate the respect of our privacy at this time.”

This will be Jennifer’s third divorce — she was first married in 1997 to Ojani Noa, and again in 2001 to her backup dancer Cris Judd. She had a famous romance with Sean “Diddy” Combs. This will be Marc’s second divorce.

The couple, both of Puerto Rican heritage, got married in 2004 in their Beverly Hills home. At that time, Marc had ended his marriage to former Miss Universe Dayanara Torres, while JLo had recently endured a high-profile breakup with Ben Affleck.

They have three-year-old twins together, Max and Emme. They were Lopez’s first children; Anthony had a child from Torres and another from a previous relationship.

Jennifer and Marc pair did a joint tour together and starred in the movie “El Cantante” in 2006. Back in May this year, they gave a steamy performance together on the season finale of “American Idol.”

In April, the pair, both 42, announced plans for a television show together, "Q'Viva! The Chosen," with Simon Fuller, the creator of "Idol." The show was to feature the superstar couple as they traveled the world to find the best performers in Latin music, dance and other arts with the goal of creating a live extravaganza. The show has no airdate, and it's now unclear if it will continue.

Jennifer’s career has lulled in recent years but has surged since she became an "Idol" judge.

Christina Victoria Grimmie (born March 12, 1994), known on YouTube as zeldaxlove64, is a pianist, flautist and singer famed for her reworking of hit songs by artists such as Lady Gaga, Demi Lovato, Selena Gomez, Christina Aguilera, Miley Cyrus and Justin Bieber.

Christina Grimmie

Grimmie, who also dabbles with guitar and drums, popped into national limelight when her videos began notching millions of views on YouTube. And she is currently the veritable queen of YouTube musicians, with 974,000 subscribers, an EP of original songs (called Find Me) available on iTunes, a single (“Advice”) getting airplay on Radio Disney, and a plum opening spot on Selena Gomez’s upcoming summer tour.

A high school senior this fall, the home-schooled Grimmie almost never joined the site at all.

“My friend convinced me to put a video up, when originally I did not want to,” the quirky 17 year-old said. “I did on July 17th, 2009.” That was the day that Grimmie posted a video of herself playing piano and singing “Don’t Wanna Be Torn” by Hannah Montana.

As she frequently posted new cover videos to her channel, zeldaxlove64, Grimmie developed a small online fanbase, and what started as a frivolous hobby quickly became a much bigger project. “More and more, I made it a routine to post videos, and now I’m doing pretty well for myself, I would say.”

She started by solidifying her status on YouTube. Grimmie continued to post videos of herself singing pop songs in her Sonic the Hedgehog-adorned bedroom, and as her pageviews went up, opportunities gradually presented themselves.

It just so happens that some of Christina’s videos ended up on the computer screen of Mandy Teefey, Selena Gomez’s mother. “Selena’s mom, she saw me singing ‘My Heart Will Go On‘ by Celine Dion, and then she saw the Miley Cyrus medley, and that led her to ask her husband Brian her to go out and find me.”

After getting in touch with Christina through her brother’s YouTube channel, Brian Teefey (Selena Gomez's step-father), met with Grimmie in May 2010 and became her manager.

Grimmie is best known for her video with Sam Tsui, covering Nelly's "Just a Dream", which has had over 30 million views. She had over 17 million views on her channel as of June 2011, which made her the 7th most subscribed musician on YouTube of all time at that point. She also was placed within the top 5 of the MyYoutube competition, along with Selena Gomez, Rihanna, Nicki Minaj and Justin Bieber.

She released an EP, entitled Find Me, on June 14, 2011 which debuted at number 35 on the Billboard 200. Her first single 'Advice' was released to Radio Disney on June 11.

Christina Grimmie 'Find Me'

She will be touring with Selena Gomez & the Scene beginning July 28, 2011, where she will be promoting Find Me.

A glittering future seems to be awaiting this home-schooled girl!

At last weekend’s Julien’s auction in Beverly Hills, California, featuring memorabilia from the Beatles, Madonna and Elvis Presley, Michael Jackson reigns supreme.

The King of Pop’s red and black calfskin ‘Thriller’ jacket sold for $1.8 million. The late pop star wore the jacket in a scene with a troupe of zombies who rise from their graves and break into a dance routine in his 1983 zombie-ridden “Thriller” video. The 14-minute clip is considered one of the most influential music videos ever made.

The winning price was exponentially above the pre-auction estimate of $200,000 to $400,000. A portion of the proceeds will go to actress Tippi Hedren's Roar Foundation. The pop star's Bengal tigers, Thriller and Sabu, have been living at the foundation's Shambala Preserve since Jackson left Neverland Ranch in 2006.

The jacket was designed by Deborah Landis, the wife of "Thriller" director John Landis. It was given by Jackson, who died on the 25th of June 2009, to his longtime costume designers Dennis Tompkins and Michael Bush. The inside lining is inscribed "To Bush and Dennis, All My Love, Michael Jackson," and the sleeve is signed "Love Michael Jackson."

Michael Jackson's Thriller jacket sold for $1.8 million

Its sale came exactly two years after the then 50-year-old Jackson was killed by a surgical anesthetic called Propofol, which a Los Angeles coroner ruled killed the singer in combination with several sedatives found in his blood.

Darren Julien, president and CEO of Julien's Auctions in Beverly Hills, Callifornia, said the jacket was purchased by Milton Verret, a commodities trader and philanthropist from Austin, Texas.

Verret, who also owns the jacket Jackson wore during his Bad tour, revealed that the jacket will be put on display at Dell Children's Hospital in Austin, before sending it around the world to display as a fundraising tool for children's charities in the spirit of Jackson.

Verret has a history of making pop-culture purchases to benefit the less fortunate. He paid $120,000 at auction for a $20,000 2009 motorcycle signed by Jay Leno to benefit a New York children's charity. He spent another $120,000 on eight "Big Guitars" during the 2009 GuitarTown charitable auction in Austin, donating the pieces to the city afterward.

"It is one of the most important pieces of rock 'n' roll memorabilia in history," Verret said.

The jacket wasn't the only piece of memorabilia from the late King of Pop that was part of the auction. The signature fedora Jackson wore during his Bad Tour was sold for $16,250, his handwritten note to Elizabeth Taylor went for $5,625 and a signed pillowcase fetched $3,584. And a bidder paid out $330,000 -- more than 10 times what Julien's had expected to get -- for one of the famous, shiny, crystal-covered gloves that Jackson wore during the 1980s.

Other pieces of history, from other members of music royalty, were also featured at the auction. While gold records and instruments were common items, others were more practical -- like Frank Sinatra's boots (selling for $2,500) and his 1986 Jaguar car ($19,000) as well as the U.S. Army-issued sewing kit of Elvis Presley's that went for $1,536.

The King of Pop's closest competition at the auction was the Beatles, which had a number of items for sale. A signed postcard from Liverpool's finest sold for $5,504 and Paul McCartney's bass guitar fetched $14,080. But oft-diminished drummer Ringo may have gotten the last laugh, with the cape he wore in the movie "Help!" selling for $37,500 -- about five times the estimate.

Daniel Craig and Rachel Weisz tied the knot in a low-key secret wedding ceremony in New York last Wednesday in front of just four guests — Weisz’s five-year-old son Henry from her relationship with Black Swan director Darren Aronofsky, Craig’s 18-year-old daughter Ella from his first marriage, and two family friends.

Rachel Weisz and Daniel Craig

‘Daniel and Rachel insisted on having a small, quiet wedding. They are madly in love and couldn’t wait to be husband and wife – but they wanted minimum fuss,’ a source said.

The Mummy star Rachel, 41, started dating Craig, 43, in November last year after she split from her long-term partner and the father of her son, Black Swan director Darren Aronofsky, while Craig reportedly broke off his engagement to longtime girlfriend Satsuki Mitchell before the two got together.

The pair has been friends for years but allegedly fell for each other after they both starred as husband and wife in the forthcoming thriller Dream House. It seemed that they have taken the roles to heart.

They kept their romance a secret but it was exposed after they spent Christmas together, and then in May they were spotted together in Paris.

Craig rose to fame in 2006 when he became the sixth actor to play Bond in the film franchise and will star in “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.”  Weisz won an Academy Award for “The Constant Gardener” and starred in “The Mummy.”

Robin Baun of Slate PR, which represents Craig, said Saturday that the actor and Weisz have married. She did not offer any details.

This is the first marriage for Weisz and the second for the James Bond star.

Weird Al Yankovic poking fun of Lady Gaga’s eccentric wardrobe is a classic example of the pot calling the kettle black.

In the King of Pop Parodies’ latest parody video “Perform This Way,” Weird Al opted to CGI his face onto a woman’s body, resulting in an even freakier parody of Gaga’s outlandish looks. Weird Al probably did Gaga a favor by using a fit body double in the parody of “Born This Way.”

Weird Al as Lady Gaga

Wearing versions of Lady Gaga’s more buzzed about looks, Yankovic and the unknown female body included the meat dress, caution tape outfit, flying nun habit and alien pod, along with some outfit predictions made of swiss cheese and live bees.

Lady Yankovic

The video is a silly, light-hearted poke at Lady Gaga’s unapologetic style and with just enough sass to make it a comedy hit. One particularly funny moment is when Lady Yankovic shoves a Madonna look-a-like wearing the same outfit out of the shot just as he sings, “I’m so completely original / my new look is all the rage.”

Weird Al and Madonna look-alike

Lyrics to Weird Al’s Lady Gaga parody include:

“I’ll  be a troll or evil queen,

I’ll be a human jelly bean.

‘Cause every day is Halloween

For me…

I’m so completely original,

My new look is all the rage.

I’ll wrap my small intestines round my neck,

And set fire to myself on stage.”

Since his first-aired comedy song in 1976, Weird Al Yankovic has sold more than 12 million albums, recorded more than 150 parody and original songs, and has performed more than 1,000 live shows including his own TV show in the US – The Weird Al Show. His works have earned him three Grammy Awards among nine nominations, four gold records, and six platinum records in the United States.

Yankovic famously parodied Michael Jackson's "Beat it" with his version, "Eat it".

According to Weird Al's website, most artists are happy to have a Weird Al spoof of their work.

"Most artists are genuinely flattered and consider it an honor to have Weird Al parody their work. Some groups (including Nirvana) claim that they didn't realize that they had really "made it" until Weird Al did a parody of them!" the website reads.

British police arrested two black men last night near the home of soul singer Joss Stone on suspicion of conspiracy to murder and rob the singer.

Joss Stone

Officers detained the men, aged 30 and 33, in Cullompton, southwest England, at 10:00 am (0900 GMT) Tuesday near the star’s isolated country home and reportedly found them in possession of swords, rope and a body bag.

They also had detailed maps and aerial photos of the 24-year-old British singer’s rural property. The suspects had travelled from the Manchester area 200 miles away.

The alleged plan is believed to have been foiled by neighbours who called the police after spotting two men driving slowly and suspiciously in a red Fiat Pinto around remote country lanes in Cullompton, East Devon, where Joss lives.

“Police attended an address in Cullompton yesterday morning after alert residents notified officers about a suspicious-looking vehicle,” said a local police spokesman.

“Officers attended the area at around 10:00 am and subsequently arrested the occupants of a red Fiat Punto.”

Stone, among the five top-earning female UK singing stars, has sold more than 10 million albums worldwide and has worked with music legends such as Rolling Stone Mick Jagger, Stevie Wonder and the late US soul superstar James Brown. She is also the fifth wealthiest British and Irish pop star aged under 30 with an estimated personal fortune of Ł9 million.

Joss, who is close pals with Prince William and was at his wedding to Kate Middleton on April 29, was not at home yesterday.

Joss Stone at the royal wedding of Prince William & Kate Middleton

Det Insp Steve Parker said: “The men had information and items that lead us to suspect they may have intended to commit a criminal offence.”

They remain in police custody at a police station in Exeter on Wednesday. Up to 20 detectives from the major crime unit are now working on the case

They are being questioned by detectives having been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to cause the singer serious harm, potentially murder.

Police originally held the pair on suspicion of conspiracy to commit grevious bodily harm with intent but overnight upgraded that to conspiracy to rob and murder.

“The pair were brought in on Tuesday morning and are in the cells,” said a source close to the investigation.

“They are being quizzed about a plot to cause Joss Stone really serious harm.

“They have their solicitors with them but the police want to know what lies behind this.”

The source added: “The police want to know if this alleged conspiracy is about her money and fame or just some kind of resentment over her success.

“But this will make her feel very vulnerable living on the outskirts of a quiet and isolated village in Devon when she isn’t touring around the world.

“She is due to go on tour next month with gigs in Europe.”

They added: “It looks like they were going to do her really nasty harm if they didn’t get what they wanted.”

As well as staying at her home in east Devon, her mother runs a popular music haunt called Mama Stones nightspot in Exeter.

A local farmer said: “Anyone driving slowly around these small lanes would stand out but two black men in a car would stand out even more because you don’t see many black men in the sticks out here.”

Thank God the murder plot was foiled by the alert neighbors. Joss happens to be one of my favorite singers. Enjoy her rendition of “Right To Be Wrong”.

Korea’s Got Talent contestant Choi Sung-Bong has been hailed as Korea’s Susan Boyle. His outward appearance and demeanor truly belies the true talent he possesses. We shouldn’t judge a book by its cover but we often do just that.

When 22-year-old Sung-Bong took to the stage on Korea’s Got Talent, I think the audience and the judges did not expect much from him. He started off by sharing his inspirational story.

Choi Sung-Bong - The Korean Susan Boyle

“When I was three years old, I went to an orphanage, but because of the beatings, I ran away when I was five and lived alone by selling gum on the streets. For ten years, I lived like a fly. I was eventually able to graduate elementary and middle school through qualification examinations and the first thing that I ever liked was music.”

Choi Sung-Bong is a manual worker – his lowly profession is laughed at by the audience in the studio, and is slightly mocked by one of the judges – who has lived alone basically his entire life.

Choi said: “I just want to be like a normal person. I don’t sing that well but when I do sing, I feel like a different person.”

Modestly, he says he sings because he likes it, not because he is any good.

Sung-Bong then went on to sing Sarah Brightman’s “Nella Fantasia”, shocking the studio audience and the judges with his powerful voice and reducing some of them to tears. He was accorded a standing ovation after his performance.

"I just want to give you a hug," said one of the judges with tears in her eyes.

The English translation of the Italian song goes like this:

In my imagination I see a fair world,

Everyone lives in peace and in honesty there.

I dream of souls that are always free,

Like the clouds that fly,

Full of humanity in the depths of the soul.

In my imagination I see a bright world,

Even the night is less dark there.

I dream of souls that are always free,

Like clouds that fly.

In my imagination there exists a warm wind,

That breathes on the cities, like a friend.

I dream of souls that are always free,

Like clouds that fly,

Full of humanity in the depths of the soul.

12-year-old Ronan Parke, favorite to win the Ł100,000 prize in tonight’s final after Simon Cowell called him the new Justin Bieber, yesterday branded as “really silly” internet claims by a mystery blogger that he had been hand-picked and groomed by Simon Cowell to win Britain’s Got Talent.

Simon Cowell & Ronan Parke

The blogger, claiming to be an executive at Sony Music, had sparked an online frenzy by claiming Ronan had been secretly managed, coached and styled by Cowell for two years.

Ronan hit back: “I have not been coached by anyone to do with Simon. I have never met Simon in my life. I’d love to, but I never have. I have been coached by a singing teacher in Norwich that we pay for. No one’s paid for our clothes or anything. It’s really silly.”

In an extraordinary development, Cowell announced before last night’s live semi-final that he had something to say.

He told 12 million ITV viewers:  “There has been an allegation made on the internet that Ronan Parke had a previous record contract with my record label, that I’d met him beforehand, both of which are complete and utter lies. He’s just 12 years old and this is a deliberate smear campaign. It’s my job to make sure that this liar is exposed and this kid is treated the same as everyone else and the public will decide.”

The allegations have prompted  Cowell’s lawyers going to a West London police station to report an offence under the Malicious Communications Act 1988 which states it is a criminal offence to cause distress with information known to be false – punishable with up to six months in jail.

Cowell’s company Syco has earlier on issued a statement stressing: “There has been speculation on the internet that Britain’s Got Talent finalist Ronan Parke was known to and worked with Syco/Sony Music before entering the show. There is no truth in this story whatsoever. Ronan first came to Syco/Sony’s attention when he entered this year’s competition. Syco/Sony Music will not hesitate to take whatever legal action is appropriate to prevent further publication of these unfounded allegations”

Last night a show insider said: “We think we know who has done this. It was a nasty and spiteful thing to do.”

A source said: “These are cruel lies about a child pursuing his dream.”

Another source said: “It is disgusting to be so cruel to a 12-year-old child. The hunt is on for this person.”

A BGT spokeswoman said: “The welfare of our contestants is paramount. We will not tolerate bullying of any kind.”

Louis Walsh, who put Ronan through when he stood in as a judge, insisted: “I just picked the kid because he was the best on the day.

“Someone is trying to stop him from winning the show.

“I’ve worked with Simon for eight years and he is totally by the book. He would never even try anything like this.”

Walsh made the comment “Ronan Parke – remember that name. This kid is going to be a star” when he put Ronan through.

A senior source on the show revealed: “It looks like one individual with an axe to grind. We’re hoping the police will be able to make an arrest soon and bring this malicious liar to justice.”

Ronan gave a stunning performance on Monday night when he topped the public vote with his rendition of Make You Feel My Love, winning himself a place in tonight’s live final.

Ronan’s mother Maggie, 52, has also dismissed the claims that he was auditioned by talent scouts who had spotted him performing at a birthday party for family friend Bryan Gunn, the former Norwich City goalkeeper.

She said: “I am really angry. Ronan has worked so hard to get where he is.”

“It’s laughable, to be perfectly honest with you, and it couldn’t be further from the truth. There’s no foundation in it whatsoever.”

Singing teacher Kay Webber, who has been giving Ronan Ł15 half-hour lessons for 2˝ years, added: “There was never any suggestion of him going on Britain’s Got Talent last year or the year before.”

A Scotland Yard spokesman confirmed: “An allegation of malicious communications was made to Kensington and Chelsea police on Thursday, June 2.”

Officers around the world are now said to be working on the investigation, including a crack digital surveillance team in Germany where the website containing the claims was hosted.

Insiders fear the blog – read by more than a million people before legal teams acting for Sony Music forced the website’s hosting company to remove the posting- is part of a hate campaign to derail Ronan’s chances in tonight’s final.

The blogger’s alleged that Ronan’s hairstyle, clothing and mannerisms have all been choreographed.

The blog post by the mystery blogger goes like this:

For reasons which will become obvious, I can’t reveal my full identity. But let me just say that, I am an executive with Sony Music UK with many years experience in music management [sic]. My work involves close liasion with Simon Cowell’s SYCO company (specifically SYCO Music and SYCO TV) and, as a result, I have seen what goes on from the inside and this has left me increasingly uncomfortable about the integrity of Britain’s Got Talent and particularly the workings of SYCO.

Scouts working for SYCO first saw Ronan Parke (the 12 year old singer) some two years ago when he was just 10 and was singing at a birthday party for former Norwich City goal-keeper, Bryan Gunn. Following that, Ronan was privately auditioned by SYCO scouts on two more occasions and, as is usual practice on BGT, he was “invited” to audition for the show as a “preferred” contestant. At the same time, Ronan and his parents were “required” to enter into a contract with SYCO…

As is common for “invited” contestants that SYCO likes and have already signed, Ronan and his parents were provided with a car to drive them to the audition in London. These “invited” contestants don’t have to queue up with everyone else, they don’t go through the preliminary auditions with producers, but perform straight to Simon and the judging panel at a pre- arranged time-slot. And so it was for Ronan back in 2009 when he was just 10.

It was at this initial audition that I first met Ronan and he looked very different back then. He was a skinny, 10 year old lad who, even at that time, was a bit effeminate. His voice needed a bit of working on, but that wouldn’t be a problem. Unfortunately, nerves got the better of Ronan and he was unable to perform. Simon however, had already seen the audition tapes from the scouts and took Ronan into an unused dressing room and got him to sing in there with his mum for support. Clearly Ronan was not going to be part of BGT in 2009 and nothing from this was ever televised.

Ordinarily, you would think that would be the end of things, but with Ronan already signed to SYCO, far from it. This was just the start of a two year grooming and manipulation process to prepare Ronan for stardom…

A development package, which included professional singing, dancing and stage-craft tuition was arranged for Ronan and the SYCO machine kicked into gear with the view of Ronan entering BGT 2010. Lots of work had been done with Ronan and his voice was much improved, unfortunately nerves were still a major issue for him and it was decided by SYCO not to enter him into the 2010 series.

At a following senior exec meeting at SYCO it was suggested that Ronan be dropped, but with Simon confident that he could be the kid he had been looking for, it was agreed that Ronan would receive “intensive support and input” to ready him for the 2011 series. Although Ronan’s voice was now stunning, there were other major problems to be dealt with in order to sell him to the public. With respect to Ronan, he was nothing more than a cooky-looking, skinny runt of a kid and this was identified as a major handicap to sales.

It was agreed at a high-level, secret SYCO meeting, that if they were to do anything with Ronan, he needed totally restyling from the toes up. And so with time running out to develop Ronan into the star Simon wanted, SYCO went into overdrive. Ronan was even given speech and elocution training to rid him of his rural Norfolk accent, again in preparation for the potential US market. As for his effeminate and girlishness, this posed a bigger problem and resulted in many highly confidential meetings. At one of these meetings, the unthinkable was raised as a way forward….

Until now Ronan had been encouraged to “boy-up” and it was planned to present Ronan as an everyday skater-boy. But with his girliness still showing through, the image just wasn’t believable. So a decision was taken to encourage and allow Ronan to “release” and enhance his campness. Disgustingly, SYCO planned to sexualise him. They were well aware of course, that if they sexualised a young girl to look sexually older than she is, all hell would let loose. But with Ronan, as one executive put it, “no one has ever seen a ‘gay’ kid before, it’ll be a novelty.” As for the pre-teen market, it was accepted they wouldn’t care if Ronan appeared gay or not…most probably don’t know what gay is anyway. And so, with a total gay- sexualisation of Ronan secretly planned, SYCO got to work. I should stress, Ronan’s parents were not aware of any of this and were never consulted about Ronan’s development or management. When I first met Ronan he was a bit effeminate in his ways, but nothing like the camp, girlie-giggling kid you see now on BGT and this is a direct result of SYCO’s styling. Even his clothing worn at the audition and live semi-final were chosen for him by SYCO to match his new image.

Ronan Parke

SYCO took over everything to do with Ronan. His hairstyle, his clothes, his poise, giving tv interviews, you name it, Ronan was styled within an inch of his life and all on the promise of stardom, just as long as he worked hard and listened to his mentors. As for Ronan’s parents they were constantly reassured that Simon was personally looking after Ronan and “it’s all good”.

And so to BGT 2011. With Ronan ready to be unveiled, SYCO bosses, under instructions from Simon did something not done in previous series of BGT; the winner of BGT 2011 was decided long before the first auditions took place and that winner HAD to be Ronan Parke. With Ronan now 12, he looked and sounded just as SYCO had planned, but time was running out. Soon Ronan would be going into puberty and his voice would eventually break, so BGT 2011 had to be the vehicle to launch Ronan’s career; another year and as a singer he would probably be beyond any meaningful career and the opportunity will have been missed. With all this investment in Ronan, the production managers at SYCO TV are ready to deliver Ronan as ordered. Again, I need to stress, Ronan and his parents know nothing of this and have no idea Ronan will win BGT this weekend.

So far in the history of BGT and X-Factor, for that matter, no one has ever won who has not been an “invited or preferred” contestant, and it does sadden me that, all those thousands of people, lining up outside, often in the rain and cold, are basically wasting their time. The producers of BGT are not looking for the talented people, they aready [sic] have those. The reality is that the producers are hunting out oddities, freaks and, I’m ashamed to say, mentally ill people, to act as amusing fillers in the audition shows. They are nothing more than unpaid extras and they don’t even qualify for traveling expenses! It’s quite disgusting and shameful really, how the production team on BGT operate.  People come from all over the country, often at  great personal expense, because they think BGT is a talent competition and they stand a chance of realising their dreams.  I can tell you from the inside that BGT is no more a  “competition”, than I am an astronaut.  Nothing is left to chance on BGT, everything is micro-managed, choreographed, manipulated and planned down to the last detail including, the telephone voting.

The micro-management of Ronan’s audition performance was incredible.  I was really quite shocked at his new image.  From a starting point of wanting Ronan to look cute for the pre-teen  market, SYCO had totally gayed him up in the process.  Ronan’s not a 16 year old expressing his sexualty for the first time, he’s a 12 year old boy.  It was horrible and I was very  uncomfortable as to where this was going to end.  Ronan, still suffering from nerves, performed his song and received a standing ovation from all three judges…why?  Because it was in  the script to give Ronan a standing ovation.  As for Louis comment. “Ronan Parke.  Remember that name.  This kid’s gonna be a star!!” – that was actually fed to him from the production  gallery and I know the guy who wrote the line.

And when it comes to Ronan’s tears…well, check it out on YouTube or something.  You see Ronan crying and wiping away tears.  Only  you don’t see any actual tears, not even on close-up and on an HD tv.  Yep you guessed it, even that was choreographed, right down to the lip-biting!

I’ve met Ronan a few times over the past couple of years. He’s a really nice kid with a generous, warm personality and the most wonderfully cute, girlie-giggle. There’s nothing to not like about Ronan. He’s a really sensitive soul and this comes across as him being a bit effeminate. But in a world of thuggish chavs, Ronan’s a real breath of fresh air really and a real delight to chat to. Do I think Ronan’s gay? No, is the short answer to that. SYCO have got a lot to answer for in their initial styling and image for Ronan. Like many 12 year old boys, Ronan may have issues in coming to terms with his sexuality in a couple of years. But right now, he’s just a great kid…a bit different, I admit…but a great kid just the same.

The anonymous blogger alleged that:

1. 12-year-old Ronan will ‘definitely’ win the talent contest on 4 June 2011.

2. Ronan has been ‘groomed’ by Cowell since 2009.

3. Ronan was spotted two years ago, aged ten, when he sung for Norwich City goalkeeper Bryan Gunn at a party.

4. Ronan was seen by top executives as being Britain’s answer to Justin Bieber.

5. Ronan was ‘invited’ to auditions with Simon – There was “a two-year grooming and manipulation process to prepare Ronan for stardom.”

6. Louis Walsh’s comments – ‘Ronan Parke. Remember that name. This kid’s gonna be a star!’ – were scripted.

7. His image was made to be ‘camp’.

8. Ronan’s parents did not know about the ‘manipulation’.

Do you believe this mystery blogger? I feel that Ronan is innocent. He is a talented, there’s no doubt about that.  If he wins tonight, I believe he deserves it.
