A couple of my lady readers posed a question to me recently. They asked me why I only feature beautiful women on my blog. They suggested that I should also feature handsome men too. To these lady readers, you have got a deal. I will try to feature handsome men too from now on.
I was thinking of where to start this morning when I saw a brief news article about Henry Golding landing the lead male role in the film adaptation of Kevin Kwan’s Crazy Rich Asians which happens to be a book that I enjoyed reading last year. Golding will play Nick Young with Constance Wu playing his girlfriend Rachel Chu and Dato Michelle Yeoh playing Nick’s controlling mother Eleanor Young.
Who is Henry Golding? A lot of you are probably wondering. Hey, he has link to Sarawak. His mother is an Iban from Sarawak while his father is British. Because of his mixed parentage, he has always viewed the world through equally Eastern and Western eyes.
Golding, born on 5th February 1987, started his career about nine years ago as a host on ESPN’s Castrol Football Crazy before establishing himself as a travel and adventure presenter on Welcome to the Rail World, Without Boundaries, Driving Change with Caltex, Now everybody can travel to New Zealand and Two Brothers Two Cities. Currently, you can catch him on BBC’s The Travel Show, which airs on BBC World News and BBC Two.
The 30-year old, who was trained as a hairstylist,is a passionate photographer and videographer. Growing up predominantly in the UK, he relocated from London back to Asia in 2008. He is represented in Singapore by FLY Entertainment.
By the way, Golding was in Sarawak last week with her mum visiting places like Kuching, Betong and the LA of Sarawak, Lubok Antu, where he ate live sago worms!
But I have bad news for you ladies. Golding is no longer available. He married his girlfriend Liv Lo on August 22 last year at Cove 55 Santubong, Sarawak, in a simple garden wedding style. Liv, a TV presenter and emcee, is of Italian-Chinese parentage. She was featured in ELLE’s Girls of Now showcase of new-media movers and shakers.
