It was billed as the Wedding of the Century and all eyes were on Kate Middleton. But Kate’s sister Philippa Charlotte Middleton (popularly known as Pippa Middleton) managed to steal the show at the royal wedding.
Pippa – whose nickname is Perfect Pippa – wowed the crowds as she stepped out of a Rolls-Royce wearing figure-hugging Alexander McQueen. As the Royal Maid of Honour, Pippa had no shortage of male admirers with her fabulous figure displayed in her tight-fitting gown – including best man Prince Harry, who was openly flirting with his gorgeous new relative.
Pippa’s dress was created by Sarah Burton the Creative Director of the fashion house and is a heavy, ivory based crepe with a cowl front and the same button detail and lace trims as the bride’s.
As the incredibly toned and tanned brunette beauty took her place holding Kate’s train, social networking sites like Twitter almost crashed.
But the main topic of tweet conversation is the wish that Pippa and best man Prince Harry hook up at the reception.
But there’s bad news for Harry if he thinks he can sweep Pippa off her feet with her royal charms, as by Pippa’s side was her devoted boyfriend Alex Loudon. Pippa, 27, has been dating the handsome cricketer-turned-City banker for a year and the couple are seriously smitten. Both tall, dark and athletic, they make a striking couple.
“Alex has no reason to fear Harry would turn Pippa’s head,” said a pal. “Harry may be royal, but Alex is upper-crust, rich and good looking. He’s exactly Pippa’s type and I don’t think even a Prince would be much competition.”
Alexander Guy Rushworth Loudon, 30, has impeccable credentials. His father is James, the former High Sheriff of Kent. He attended Durham University before playing cricket for Warwickshire. He studied for an MBA at the London Business School and now lives in Fulham, West London, and at the family seat Olantigh, near Wye in Kent – a stately pile built in 1910. He went to the wedding not only as Pippa’s boyfriend, but in his own right as an old Eton pal of William.
So those who hope for a fairy tale ending for Pippa and Prince Harry are obviously in for a disappointment.
