Maxim has released its Hot 100 2012, the definitive list of the world’s most beautiful women. And Israeli supermodel and former Leonardo DiCaprio love interest Bar Refaeli is officially the hottest woman on the planet, according to the Maxim list.

Bar Refaeli the Hottest Woman of 2012

The Maxim Hot 100 is usually created in-house, but this year the magazine decided to let readers vote. And because of the crowd input, the Maxim 100 has a few surprises on it. It includes, at No. 92, Amanda Knox, the young woman who was convicted of murdering the woman who shared an apartment with her in Italy.  The conviction was overturned last October.

A 31-year-old barmaid from North Wales last night wowed the X Factors judging panel and won herself a standing ovation from both the judges and audience with her stirring rendition of Whitney Houston’s One Moment In Time in X Factor auditions in Manchester.

Samantha Brookes belting out her rendition of Whitney Houston's Moment In Time

Taking to the stage in a leopard print top, Samantha Brookes took the time to tell Louis Walsh she has a crush on him, wiggling her bottom at an astonished Louis. She spent a lot of time talking, prompting Gary Barlow to shift her on a bit.

As soon as the music started, Samantha was transformed from being a joker to an amazing singer, belting out her very emotional rendition of the Whitney Houston hit and reducing her family and friends backstage to tears.

Sami revealed that she felt her size let her down in her bid to be a singer, saying “I was always a little bit under-confident because you see artists like Rihanna and Beyonce.”

Ex-Destiny’s Child star Kelly Rowland was quick to reassure Sami, telling her: “You don’t have to change anything and you know what your size is honey? Sexy. You size sexy.”

Adding that she was too excited up to return to her seat after a standing ovation, Kelly added: “If I could crowd-surf right now, I totally would,”

Gary Barlow loved the rendition, commending that it was absolutely amazing and adding that as well as the big belted notes, he also loved how pure and beautiful her quieter parts were.

Louis Walsh asked Sami: Where have you been hiding?

As expected, Samantha Brookes received four yes votes from the judges from the judges and advanced to boot camp stage.

Christina Victoria Grimmie (born March 12, 1994), known on YouTube as zeldaxlove64, is a pianist, flautist and singer famed for her reworking of hit songs by artists such as Lady Gaga, Demi Lovato, Selena Gomez, Christina Aguilera, Miley Cyrus and Justin Bieber.

Christina Grimmie

Grimmie, who also dabbles with guitar and drums, popped into national limelight when her videos began notching millions of views on YouTube. And she is currently the veritable queen of YouTube musicians, with 974,000 subscribers, an EP of original songs (called Find Me) available on iTunes, a single (Advice) getting airplay on Radio Disney, and a plum opening spot on Selena Gomezs upcoming summer tour.

A high school senior this fall, the home-schooled Grimmie almost never joined the site at all.

My friend convinced me to put a video up, when originally I did not want to, the quirky 17 year-old said. I did on July 17th, 2009. That was the day that Grimmie posted a video of herself playing piano and singing Dont Wanna Be Torn by Hannah Montana.

As she frequently posted new cover videos to her channel, zeldaxlove64, Grimmie developed a small online fanbase, and what started as a frivolous hobby quickly became a much bigger project. More and more, I made it a routine to post videos, and now Im doing pretty well for myself, I would say.

She started by solidifying her status on YouTube. Grimmie continued to post videos of herself singing pop songs in her Sonic the Hedgehog-adorned bedroom, and as her pageviews went up, opportunities gradually presented themselves.

It just so happens that some of Christinas videos ended up on the computer screen of Mandy Teefey, Selena Gomezs mother. Selenas mom, she saw me singing My Heart Will Go On by Celine Dion, and then she saw the Miley Cyrus medley, and that led her to ask her husband Brian her to go out and find me.

After getting in touch with Christina through her brothers YouTube channel, Brian Teefey (Selena Gomez's step-father), met with Grimmie in May 2010 and became her manager.

Grimmie is best known for her video with Sam Tsui, covering Nelly's "Just a Dream", which has had over 30 million views. She had over 17 million views on her channel as of June 2011, which made her the 7th most subscribed musician on YouTube of all time at that point. She also was placed within the top 5 of the MyYoutube competition, along with Selena Gomez, Rihanna, Nicki Minaj and Justin Bieber.

She released an EP, entitled Find Me, on June 14, 2011 which debuted at number 35 on the Billboard 200. Her first single 'Advice' was released to Radio Disney on June 11.

Christina Grimmie 'Find Me'

She will be touring with Selena Gomez & the Scene beginning July 28, 2011, where she will be promoting Find Me.

A glittering future seems to be awaiting this home-schooled girl!

Men’s magazine FHM unveiled its annual 100 Sexiest Women In The World poll with a partyWednesday night – it was just a shame that none of them had turned up at the bash, held at the One Marylebone club.

Transformers 3 hottie Rosie Huntington-Whiteley won the coveted Sexiest Woman in the World title for the first time ever, just days after landing a similiar title from Maxim magazine. She knocked Cheryl Cole from the title Cole has held for the past two years. Cheryl dropped out of the top 10 completely, falling to 12th place on the list.

Rosie – who is dating actor Jason Statham – managed to send a message to the assembled guests however saying: “Wow. Thanks for voting guys, I’m so flattered to be FHM’s Sexiest Woman in the World. This is a really exciting year for me and I hope you all enjoy Transformers 3.”

Other British to win the title in the poll’s 17-year history include Keira Knightley in 2006 and Kelly Brook in 2005.

This year, Katy Perry took second place, knocking former 2008 champion Megan Fox back into fourth.

10. Irina Shayk NEW ENTRY

Stuart Hood from FHM commented: “Strong showings from Katy Perry, Rihanna and actress Olivia Wilde give this year’s poll a very American flavour, while the high rankings of less widely known swimsuit models Brooklyn Decker and Irina Shayk highlight either just how internet-savvy British men have become or just how obsessed with WAGs we still are. Decker is married to American tennis star Andy Roddick and Shayk dates Cristiano Ronaldo.”

Among the 31 women who dropped completely off the list were Jennifer Aniston – the first time she has not featured in the list since it started in 1996 – Sienna Miller, Lily Allen and Charlotte Church.

Every girls-crush Justin Bieber is placed at number seven on the list though he is not a woman. I guess his inclusion is part of COEDs sense of humor.

Lady Gagas dominance at this year’s MTV Europe Music Awards saw her winning honors for Best Female, Best Song, and Best Pop just a year after taking the best new act prize.

The Sunday ceremony converted two of the Spanish capital’s most iconic landmarks into glittering venues from which to present its 2010 honors.

Tens of thousands of music fans crowded downtown Puerta de Alcala and Caja Magica to hear acts by Jared Leto and Shakira.

Lady Gaga was in Budapest, Hungary, for a concert and so accepted her awards via video link. On the third occasion she appeared to be wearing little more than a folded piece of plastic, enhancing her reputation for outlandish outfits.

“I wish so much that I could be there,” she said, before launching into a song for the MTV crowd in the Caja Magica venue in Madrid. “Get off my stage!” she shouted at the end.

Lady Gaga and Katy Perry went into the annual awards ceremony — one of pop music’s biggest nights outside the United States — leading the field with five nominations apiece.

Perry was also recognised, winning the Best Video category for “California Gurls.”

Both Americans, the singers underlined the dominance of U.S. music on the night even though most prizes were decided by a popular vote on MTV’s Europe Awards website.

Of the main winners, only one was not American. That was 16-year-old Canadian chart sensation Justin Bieber, who beat out the likes of Eminem and Kanye West to pick up the coveted Best Male Artist prize.

Colombian singer Shakira opened the show with British rapper Dizzee Rascal, and there were performances by acts including Kings of Leon, Kid Rock and Miley Cyrus.

Among the highlights was Barbadian star Rihanna, who sported red hair, a tiara and a short white wedding-style dress when she sang “Only Girl.”

Bon Jovi were the closing act, after the band picked up the inaugural Global Icon award.

“Thanks for making us icons,” Jon Bon Jovi told the cheering crowd. “I want to thank everyone at MTV for this unbelievable ride over a quarter of a century. We’re still doing what we do and we’re doing it well.”

According to MTV, the group has sold more than 125 million albums, performed over 2,700 concerts in over 50 countries to 35 million fans and were the number one touring act in 2008.

Rounding out the prizes were U.S. performers Ke$ha (Best New Act), Eminem (Best HipHop), Paramore (Best Alternative), Linkin Park (Best Live Act) and 30 Seconds to Mars (Best Rock).

“Hopefully I can inspire you guys to give the finger to the cynics,” Ke$ha told the screaming crowd.

“Desperate Housewives” actress Eva Longoria hosted the event, and managed eight changes of costume, all designed by Victoria Beckham.

At one point she was joined on stage by last year’s host Perry, who tore at the shoulder straps of her successor’s black dress revealing a tight-fitting bodice.

Winners of the 17th annual MTV Europe Music Awards:

Best Song — Lady Gaga for “Bad Romance”

Best Live Act — Linkin Park

Best European Act — Marco Mengoni

Best New Act — KE$HA

Best Female — Lady Gaga

Best Male — Justin Bieber

Best Pop — Lady Gaga

Best Rock — Thirty Seconds to Mars

Best Alternative — Paramore

Being incarcerated has not put a damper on American rapper Lil Waynes media onslaught. He has been dropping mixtape and guesting on tracks to the point where hes almost not missed. He has released just as many music videos, freestyles and guest features during his stint in Rykers Island as he ever has.

His manager Cortez Bryant compiled “I Am Not A Human Being”, an album of all new material released digitally yesterday on Waynes birthday. This is the eighth studio album by Lil Wayne. The physical version of the album will be released on October 12, 2010 with 2 additional tracks. This is the fifth album of Lil Wayne recording outside of Tha Carter series of albums.

The I Am Not A Human Being mixtape aims to whet fan’s appetites for Tha Carter 4, Waynes next studio album, much in the way 2007′s The Leak preceded Tha Carter 3. “I Am Not A Human Being” marks Wayne’s return to traditional rap following the rap-rock “Rebirth” fiasco.

Released on iTunes yesterday, “I Am Not A Human Being” has now peaked at number one. Within twelve hours after its release it has already surpassed Eminems Recovery, taking over the Hip-Hop/Rap charts to become the number one overall album on iTunes.

The album has got some great reviews and it seems that Waynes stint in the jail has not affected his music in the least. Weezy is well on his music grind and his latest album seems to be a family affair of sorts featuring Nicki Minaj, Jay Sean and Drake.

Here is a review of the tracks gleaned from the Internet:

1. Gonorrhea: The first song of the album features Drake. The beat on the song is mellow and the rhythm is quite good. Drakes performance is confident and assertive with a run-on flow that fits the track.

2. Hold Up: This song features T-Street. The song adds a brand new dynamics to the album and the beat of the song is quite powerful and bold.

3. With You: This is the sweet side of Weezy, with help from Drake. It is a cutesy love ballad with Drake sticking to crooning on the hook. Wayne actually adheres to a bar structure for a change. The piano and the angelic soul singing sample provide the romantic mood.

4. I Am Not A Human Being: A song from the era when Weezy was walking around with a guitar slung over his shoulder, with 80s 808s and guitars and breaks. The song goes hard with lines like Fuck itwhoever it is. The breaks bring in tough drums that bang and high powered rock guitars.

5. I’m Single: Im Single slows it down to a crawl, with Weezy proclaiming his prowess with the fairer sex. His rhyme scheme is two line but his narrative is tighter on this and not his normal freestyle ramble.

6. What’s Wrong with Them: Drake, Lil Wayne and Nicki Minaj collaborate in the song Whats Wrong with Them and the song is a treat. This could be Nicki Minaj’s breakout track. Weezy offers free association rhymes that lurch into an impossibly hooky chorus with Nicki sounding as sweet as Rihanna.

Nicki Minaj

7. Right Above It: This song was designed from the start to be a Drake breakout track, and Lil Wayne shows up for the occasion. This is vintage Weezy–the fireman spitting at his hottest.

8. Popular: One of the commonalities of the songs on this album is an almost disco-esque background, with Wayne being as introspective as he’s ever been. This song is perhaps the best example of it.

9. That Ain’t Me: Weezy’s defiant poem from prison eschews the gaudy displays of his bling bling youth in favor of fantasizing about the simple fun you can indulge in when not locked up behind bars.

10. Bill Gates: In this song, Lil Wayne returns to that Young Money type music. It sticks out as the strongest of the new songs, with the heavy dramatic brass and the pounding keyboards combining with that double snare to take Wayne home in style.

Lil Wayne has another hit album on his hands! With his ability to create one-liners that the world will quote, we are sure that these songs will all become anthems. Drake, Nicki Minaj, and Jay Sean are some of the biggest artists on the scene. With each one bringing a new element to the album, “I Am Not A Human Being” is a well rounded rap release, surprisingly coherent and consistent in quality. It displays all that makes Wayne great. It doesnt overdo it too much in any one area and that balance combined with the works brevity is a perfect prelude to Weezys road home. Well done.
